These trikes are performance trikes - much lighter than many comparable trikes - so are MUCH easier to pedal uphill and they have excellent handling with no "brake steer" - unlike many other trikes. Eliminating the brake steer effect is great bonus as it means you can brake more safely in emergencies from high speeds without wavering from the course you want to take ie it improves handling, braking and safety. You can fit standard racks, carry standard panniers, tow a luggage or child trailer and tour with them too.

The CATRIKE range are all made from super durable heat treated aluminium and are covered by a Catrike's lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. Aluminium is an excellent material for trike manufacture, being both light and strong and it obviously can make a super durable frame that is light AND stiff enough to transfer all the pedalling forces straight to the drive wheel, yet still giving a compliant, rider friendly ride. If as a designer you know what you are doing you can build a reliable and durable trike out of aluminium, steel and/or many other materials. I write these positives regarding aluminium from experience as I have been riding and racing a 12kg MR Components Swiftlet Aluminium race trike for several years. But dont just take my word for it, search the web and see the hundreds and hundreds of reports from happy Catrike owners riding a lightweight aluminium frame Catrike trike.

Compare the weights of the CATRIKEs to other trikes and you'll see their advantage - CATRIKE SPEED 12kg, CATRIKE TRAIL 14kg, CATRIKE ROAD 13kg, CATRIKE POCKET 12kg, CATRIKE 700 13kg.
